La Barra surf camp has the front yard you’ve always wanted. With a garden of waves boasting 4 walkable spots from our beachside cliff and a private boat to navigate you to dozens more across the horizon, the surf possibilities are endless.
Spacious shared rooms and private casitas with fast wifi make up accommodations for all in mind –those that can’t leave work behind, the solo wandering wave – seeker, or the group steadfast on finding swell. Sustainably sourced local fare fuels our kitchen, and we are proud to say that many miss our cooking long after they’ve left.

THE HOTEL AT LA BARRA
Our property is oceanfront. The beach is accessible with just a few steps down our stairs from our outdoor lounge area, boasting hammocks, a cool swimming pool, relaxing lounge chairs, and a well-stocked bar. All rooms have private bath, ac, and fast WI-FI access, and our entertainment area comes with a pool table, tv, and yoga deck.

SURFING IN MIRAMAR NICARAGUA
If surfing a 300 yard left sounds like a dream, look no further than our front yard. The consistent wave, called La Barra, is named after the sandbar outside the estuary of Puerto Sandino - you may also hear it called Freight Trains by visitors. This wave is an added bonus to our surf tours, as the area we reside in is so rich in reefs, points, and miles of untouched beach breaks.
Our camp offers breaks ranging from beginner to advanced, so whatever level you are, we are sure to have a wave for you. Just footsteps from the resort are four waves - two beach breaks, one point break, and one slabby reef - so finding a perfect wave for your style of surfing will be an easy task.
One of the biggest benefits to staying at La Barra is being able to take advantage of our AST surf boats. Our knowledgeable surf guides and boat captains will quickly and safely get you off the beaten path to beautiful stretches of barely touched coastline with your group of friends and fellow guests to remote breaks suitable to your style of surfing

THE PERFECT PLACE FOR SURFERS
La Barra sleeps a total of 14 guests comfortably with private baths, air conditioning and 5 different rooms to choose from in either the main house or back casitas. Each room is decorated with traditional Nicaraguan art, bright colors, comfortable mattresses and safes for valuables. Daily cleaning and linens changed every other day are provided by our staff for your comfort.
