SURFING THE MENTAWAI ISLANDS
The Mentawai Islands is considered Mecca of all surf locations worldwide with insane surf around every nook and corner throughout the island chain. The Mentawai Islands have been the playground of surfing, dominating the surf film business since it finding back in the late 80’s. In fact the Mentawai Islands has a designated area called the Playgrounds, which is the closest of the offshore islands chain to the main island of Sumatra.
AST Adventures has partnered with King Millennium as an exclusive booking partner for our client base in the United States expanding our reach to Indonesia for Surfing Yacht charters. There are two charters to choose from and can be chartered exclusively to solos and just a few guys joining other surfers for the 12 day sailing periods.
Mentawai Charter 11 Nights / 12 Days
Included in Charter Tour:
- The boat trip, 12 surfing days, 11 nights
- Dinghy ferry access to waves & island beaches for fishing or surfing
- All Meals (3) with any choice from Menu
- Beer (two per day per passenger)
- Non Alcoholic Beverages
- Snorkeling gear, visits to the islands and fishing gear
- Transport to & from: the airport, hotel and boat
- All the permits needed to go to Mentawai, Telo and Nias
- Single bed in an air-conditioned cabin
- First aid kit
Not Included:
- Airline tickets
- Excess baggage or board fees
- Extra costs due to delayed surfboards
- Personal pocket money
- Personal travel insurance for accidents, injuries and medical costs (highly recommended)
- Indonesian departure tax fee at the airport
- Other meals except as specified above
- Alcoholic beverages (available on board at extra cost)
- Transport to Padang in case of emergency (travel insurance recommended)

CHARTER BOAT OPTIONS
King Millennium II
Our mother ship the King Millennium Two refurbished in 2007 a client favorite due to it Catamaran and Aluminum hull providing less rocking for the weak stomachs. The KM1 is 57 feet in length, drives at 15 knots and holds up to 12 guests in 4 large cabins. The cabins are a bit higher end than the KM1 with individual TV, DVD and A/C. The large living area is complete with two bathrooms, and offering an outdoor dining, couches, plasma TV, Gaming and Surround Sound. The bow of the yacht offer a large resting deck so check out the views and surf.
The yacht is equipped with an auxiliary dinghy to ferry guest to and from the surf, in addition this dinghy can be use to go ashore on island hops and other charters. If you want to step up the game on the surf charter you can prepay for use of the PWC “Ski” this is an additional cost and please be sure to ask about the rules of this rental prior to booking the charter.
The Surf Package for the KM2 includes two beers per day, extra beers at local prices and we will keep them frosty cold.
Additional Charter InformationOur bridge provides all the latest electronics to include: SAT Phone, GPS, Sonar, Radar, and a 16 Channel Radio. In case of any challenges or emergency issues the yacht is equipped with EBRIP or Emergency Signals, Flares, Lifejackets and large life raft outfitted for 20 passengers.
On board the King Millennium Two provides a professional chef that will prepare 3 full meals per day and a large variety of snacks in between meals so guest maintain energy throughout the day. All meals are from the freshest foods sourced from the islands to include meats, seafood, produce, pasta and more. Our chef is trained in European and Asian cuisine add an Indonesian flare to all the meals making your surf vacation not only an epic surf trip but tasty too…
The entire crew is bilingual with local and English languages, you will feel comfortable with questions and conversations regarding your surf charter. Total languages spoken on the KM2 Include: English, Indo, French, Spanish, Bahasa and Portuguese
The King Millennium One is a great charter boat in length of SIXTY FEET with 3 double and a 1 quad staterooms complete with air conditioning, individual cupboards and ample sleeping room for all guests within the charter. The top deck and living area is complete with dining table, large couches, air conditioning, TV, DVD and Stereo for relaxing and reviewing your day of surfing. The KM1 offers a large kitchen serving breakfast, lunch and dinner and snacks on request with the bar always open!
