An extensive world traveler and major consumer of surf trips over the past couple decades, Dave decided to create AST as a lifestyle business leaving the corporate world to join the service and hospitality industry. Learning from his travels to some of the world’s best surf resorts, Dave has taken those experiences and incorporated them into AST’s core business model. Dave is our specialist for Nicaragua and El Salvador, spending much of his time their hosting our clients and shooting photos as a part time professional surf photographer.
If you invite Dave on a trip you can be assured you will come home with epic images you can look back on for a lifetime.
Chad Beatty
A true Barrel chaser with extensive knowledge of Indonesia, Chad has even been lost at sea for 12 days back when surfing in the Indian Ocean was still considered outlandish. Spending most of his life surfing remote areas of Indonesia and Mainland Mexico, Chad learned his critical survival skills from local hard knocks he’s met on his surfing adventures. Today Chad provides critical information on our Indonesia, Mexico and El Salvador camps including the Grom Camps in Las Flores, El Salvador.
Graham Scott
Every company needs an executive like Graham, a true surfer and businessman with a heart of gold. Graham leads AST’s marketing and sales relationships since our inception and continues to drive our brand across all facets of our business. You can often find Graham at a beach fair or Surf Expo sharing his knowledge of AST properties and our partnership throughout the world.
Heather Durham-Archer: Surf and Yoga Retreats

Heather has been teaching all levels of Vinyasa Flow classes ever since she was certified. The practice of yoga transformed Heather’s life and allowed her to achieve her goals of balance, strength, and tranquility. She continues to expand her practice through advanced yoga studies and her private yoga practice. In her classes, Heather encourages the potential for healing and growth (physically, mentally, and spiritually). The practice of Asanas not only supports increased mental, spiritual, and emotional peace, but physical strength as well.
